As you have seen the headlines coming out of our city, you are probably wondering if there is anything good happening there. The answer is YES! God is on the move here despite what you hear on the internet and in the news media.
As you know I work on the campus of the University of Minnesota and am on the ground with students who are experiencing all that is happening. Mission critical here has nothing to do with politics, it has everything to do with identity!
I work with college age men who are looking to know who they are, whose they are and what are they supposed to do! Allow me a few moments to share some BIG NEWS and some exciting stories about how the Collegiate Men’s Initiative is helping men believe in, belong to, become like Jesus and help others do the same!
THE BIG NEWS

Ok you can decide how big it is, but as you know one of my initiative partners that I have worked with the last several years is Project5130 which is a ministry dedicated to helping young men ages 15-25 to discover biblical manhood and their Gospel identity. The BIG NEWS is that we are gearing up to do our first encounter weekend here in Minnesota, March 27-29. This is an opportunity for young men to take a look at their own lives and learn about the hope that God has for them as a man and how to fight for and live out their biblical identity.
At our most recent encounter weekend, two young men surrendered and put their trust in the Lord. There were nine young men who went through “The Weekend” for the first time. One of the guys who said yes to Jesus is so excited to serve that he and his friend who brought him have expressed a desire to make the 16 hour drive from Houston Tx to Minnesota for the next weekend in March, and bring two of their friends to participate. It’s exciting to see what God does with these young men and the others who decide to go on “The Weekend” with us. Pray that God will lead men here at the University of Minnesota to join us.
“Living Proof” In Action

Last newsletter, I shared with you about my friend Andrew and his desire to be “Living Proof” in his dorm. I mentioned that he was meeting with another student in his dorm. Well he wasn’t satisfied with meeting with one guy so he came to me with an idea of starting a bible reading club. In his journey, it was a similar experience in high school that led him to putting his complete faith in God and he wanted to do the same for someone else.
The U has a program where if a student wanted to start an affinity group on campus that they would support the group with financial and other resources. He applied and was approved to start this group in his dorm. As you can see from the picture, he has not let any grass grow under his feet as he asked a group of guys he’s befriended in the dorm to join him and he couldn’t be more excited to be meeting with them. Pray that God moves among these men and calls them to Himself.
Let’s Stay Connected
I have struggled with ways in which to keep you informed of what is happening with the ministry. I realize that a periodic newsletter may not be the most effective way to communicate so I have been working on new vehicles to communicate and the latest is my website www.jasonrobinson.online
It will be the home of my newsletters as well as a blog and updates on the latest happenings. The desire is to connect my social media platforms. If you are looking for me on social media, I am working on changes there as well but in the meantime you can currently find me:
Instagram: @thesportmentor
Facebook: The Sport Mentor
I am looking forward to connecting with you through these mediums. As always, you can reach out at anytime to talk and catch up on what’s happening here.
