MINISTRY UPDATE: Same Ministry...Same Campus...New Role!

I AM STILL A NAVIGATOR, STILL AT THE UNIV. OF MINNESOTA...but I have a new role. I have accepted an interim Director role for the upcoming year. I am excited to continue here at the U with this great team!

Some of you got a newsletter in the mail that had the wrong return address. Thank you to those who reached out to ask what was happening and I love all you for that. I have addressed the error with the service that handles the distribution and you should be receiving another letter with the correct return label.

It promises to be a busy summer for me as I embark on a fundraising journey to meet the new budget requirements for my recent elevation to Navigator Representative. I will also be heading to Navigator HQ for my introductory week long intensive for The Navigators Leadership Development Institute which I am a member of the Class of 2023. There is so much excitement ahead of me in the next few months. I look forward to sharing more in an upcoming e-newsletter.

Ministry Update:
Same Ministry...Same Campus...New Role

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

The “Great Commission” is the call that Jesus made to his disciples to continue the work of reconciling people to God. It is a call to EVERY believer but for me on April 8, 2022 it became something more to me.

That was the day I was commissioned as a “Navigator Representative” which is the culmination of two years of training and study while serving at the University of Minnesota. Becoming a “Nav Rep” means that my colleagues and organization have seen that I have faithfully demonstrated the qualities that the Navigators desire in a minister of the Gospel serving in the organization.

Going forward, I will be able to serve in any part of our organization. I have chosen to remain with the collegiate mission here at “The U” I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for HIS ministry here. I will also be able to serve

…simultaneously in other missions of our organization as the need arises. This is commonplace within the organization.

During the last two years, I have served our city and region by co-directing our winter conference and serving on the regional advisory team. Nationally I have worked with our Cultural Development/Journey group.

I am honored to work for an organization that recognizes individual giftings and gives opportunities to grow and develop them. As a Navigator Representative, I have the opportunity to fulfill the “great commission” and live out the call of God on my life with the full backing of The Navigators organization.

Continue to pray with me as the Lord opens opportunities to spread the Gospel through the Navigators!

Faithfulness Defined

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2

This is the life call for me in ministry and the foundation of what we do in the Navigators. I recently taught about faithfulness at a recent “Nav Night”, and I shared about some of the people in our ministry who have been examples of faithfulness in our ministry.

One of the stories I shared was about my relationship with Peter. He is a junior Pre-med student who came to us as a first-year student who was away from the faith he grew up with but was looking for answers and reasons to believe again.

We bonded as fellow big men who love to play basketball and as we met and he got involved with our ministry, he found enough answers to come back to the faith he once professed. It has been an honor to watch him grow, becoming a disciple maker who is investing Owen (pictured above). He’s a picture of the faithful man described in 2 Timothy 2:2 and I’m honored to serve alongside him at “The U”
